I just purchased a 07 2.3 and need to know if it will fit in my 04 2.3. the 07 has 3 plugs that go into the ecu where as my 04 only has 1. can i use the harness off my 04? I have to have this done BY friday the latest so i would really like some input.

well as usual, i didnt get any advice or help from this site. But i figure ill pass my knowledge on for the next unlucky soul. I swapped my motor and I ran into several problems along the way (aside from only having hand tools to do the job). the 07 dosent have coolant sensor on the back where it exits the block. you will have to swap the piece that has the sensor on the 04. change this sensor now because its a wh0r3 to do with the motor in the truck. the 07 has an "extra" sensor (knock?) next to the coolant sensor i just discussed. I used the harness from the 04 so it wasnt compatible. i just tucked the connector away. also the 07 has a different knock sensor in the middle of the valve cover. different part lenght and connector end. just trim the tab off the sensor connector so you can plug it in. 07 has diffenent fule line set up. I used all the brackets and lines from the 04. other than that its basicly the same. both were vin D motors. I have been driving it for about 3 weeks and no problems except the valve cover gasket being bad and filling my plug holes with oil (very common problem with the 4cyl). with the right tools it should go quick. took me 4 days with hand tools. I only had help putting the trans back in. hauls *** now!
