How would I know if the water pump needs to be replaced ?
truck is over heating. I changed the top and bottom radiator hoses along with the thermostat and it’s still over heating ? Was told most likely the water pump but I would really like to know that for sure before I tear into ?
thank you

I'd pull the thermostat & resecure tthe housing. Then pop the radiator cap off, start it up,. If you have no circulation in the radiator, then pump is bad. If you do, then new thernostat is bad or installed upside down, if possible in that particular housing.
My 2 cents worth. Ken

Should be....don't know your exact setup.
Let everyone know what the problem turned out to be.
You may need to turn the fan to a specific point relative to the front of the timing cover if you're dealing with long fan bolts. Run into that before. Ken
