1990 Ford Ranger
1990 Ford Ranger
Thank you Don for the reply. Here is another question for ya. So I took and dropped this ranger off at a local shop I drove it there the only thing out was OD I had all other gears they did something to it and now I have nothing no 1st ect I don't know what they have done to it. Now is there a computer mod for this yr for the tranny and is that something to maybe check out as well before trying to put this other tranny in. Plus I'm having trouble seating the torque converter all the way down in there it acts like it's not all the way in so when I get the transmission up and the bell housing up the the block it's act like it don't want to bolt up is their any tricks or maybe something I'm doing wrong???
It feels like the converter is not going all the way into the transmission and is leaving a big gap bolts are lined up and it's in the crankshaft but will not close the gap am I doing something wrong??

Nothing in the computer can prevent automatics from "going into gear", computer just does shifting once transmission is in gear
If you, or someone else, tried to force transmission onto the engine without torque converter being seated then the pump has been broken, so "no gears", 0, nada, none, simple as that
Need a full rebuild if this happens
If torque converter will not seat all the way then pump was damaged so tabs can't line up with torque converter
Short video of what a seated torque converter looks like:
ALL Automatics are the same, not a Ford thing
