Hello everyone, I have been a long time reader but I joined because I need specific help. My name is Mike and I inherited my Dad's 1990 Ranger XLT 2.9L V6 5-speed manual standard cab truck after he unexpectedly passed away. I want to fix it up in his honor. It will be a long process but reminds me of him.

The first order of business is the fact that the seat brackets (bucket seats) are rusted to the point that one side isn't even connected any longer. I am scouring the internet and junkyards for replacement brackets and track (I think that is what i need, not really a car guy but now want to be) without much luck. The truck is too old to be at the junk yards and I have no technical knowledge as to what replacements I have. The seats themselves are in great condition, it's just the rust issue that is the problem.

Can someone please give me some guidance? It will be much appreciated.

Ranger Seat brackets were pretty much the same over the years, around 2000 and up the seats were riveted to the brackets, prior to that then were bolted, but rivets could be ground or drilled off.

1983 to 1992 are 1st generation Rangers
1993 to 1997 are 2nd
1998 to 2012 are 3rd

But the seats seem to be interchangeable over the years
