Hey there, I'm having a heck of a time finding a gem computer/module for my 1999 ford ranger. My ford dealership ( in canada) has a backorder of 7 and she told me she is very doubtful in getting the part. I found a used parts guy that doesn't advertise his parts, just word of mouth( as apparently there are no used ones in canada!) I have been actively looking for used/aftermarket/OEM, it amazing hard to find! So question being would a 2001 module fit my 1999. Thanks for any advice!

 

No, it needs to be 1998-2000 GEM for speedometer function

GEM also needs to match cab electrics options, i.e. power windows and power door locks
In these years it is also the 4x4 controller, if you have a 2WD you can use a 4x4 GEM but not the other way around
