Look what I found (87 Ranger content)

I was looking for a beater pickup today and I stumbled on this!

http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ra...148000502.html

I think I am going to go look at this on Saturday and if it is as clean as looks it might be in my driveway. It is almost a dead ringer for my ’88 which was my first vehicle ever. The differences I see other than the wheels, are no tach, red pinstripe instead of blue, and the shifter is the older style (which I like better). Mine had pretty much the same shifter that you would get up until the late 90’s The listing has 292K miles, I can’t imagine that is true, so I am hoping it is just a typo.

I haven't seen it in person yet and they haven't returned my phone call yet either, but I just have a tough time believing it is as clean as it looks for as little money as they are asking. I hope so. If I buy it I will re pinstripe it to match my old ranger, lose the bedliner for a sprayed in one, new carpet I think and add a factory tach. I also might swap the stainless steel tailgate panel for a late 88 one. Mid 1988 they changed that panel from Ford spelled out to a ford logo. My 88 had a Ford logo and that looks better IMO.

The only problem is, I was looking for a beater but I miss my first ranger so much this would become another toy! Maybe I need help.

Talked to the guy today, it actually does have 292K miles. Original owner traded it in and he has records. Very well maintained and it is as clean as it looks, but I am not sure I want something with that many miles. Emotionally I want this thing, but logically it is not what I need right now.
