2000 Ford Ranger XLT No Heat

Hey everyone,

A couple of summers ago I had been having no heat/very little heat problems in the truck. I knew it needed a thermostat, but upon further investigation I found gunk everywhere, so I changed all of the upper/lower hoses, return hoses, the radiator and thermostat. I had the mechanic we used to use for a long time finish it up, because I needed a couple specialty tools if I remember right. When I got it back it blew really hot heat and was fine. Well when cold temps got here in NC, everything went back to the way it was- little heat (only after it'd warmed up forever or was drove) to no heat now. Just like before.

I pulled the radiator cap this summer to check the new radiator and found gunk in it. I'm not pleased.

I have to take the dash apart to fix something else, so when I do I would like to tackle the heat problem as well, as I think it most likely would be the Blend Door. But I'd like to see what you guys have to say before I commit to it, and if you guys offer something I haven't thought of yet.

Any help would be very appreciated, and I thank you in advance.

Best,

Larry

Disconnect the heater hoses from the engine and backflush heater core by it self both directions.
Then flush engine again.
Always use a 70-30 anifreeze mix.
drive vehical watch coolent.
You may flush this several times before it quits making mud.
Been there done that.
absolutly check blend door operation high failer item.
But to me sounds like your heater core pluged.
Let us know
