2001 3.0 trouble code p1309

Had a mechanic change my camshaft synchronizer because it was squeaking. Truck never ran right . Gave up on him, didn't know what he was doing. Bought an alignment tool and aligned it myself. The truck instantly ran like new. Check enguine light went out. tried to get a sticker, tech tells me I am getting a p1309 code. I checked on line and that code is directly related to the camshaft positioning switch, crankshaft positioning switch, and a couple others. I tried aligning syncronizer again, even moving it a notch in both directions, and I know that it is aligned properly. I also read that there is two different syncronizers that some aftermarket autoparts stores list. I am stumped, and was hoping that before I spend even more money with a new mechanic I don't know, someone out here can help me. I have always gotten excellent info on this site, and asking for help once again. Thanks. HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry if I'm misreading this, but are you resetting the code after aligning it? Sometimes it takes a while for the light/codes to go away on their own even after fixing the problem.

I have a diagnostics unit, and clear the code. Twenty miles later, the code is back.
