2009 ford ranger(aka f-100)

i found this today, kind of interesting, here is the link with my findings

Ford has publicly announced that the assembly plant where the 2008 Ford Ranger is built (St. Paul, Minnesota) is scheduled to be closed in 2008. Rumor has it is that the Ranger will be reincarnated as a unibody truck (think: Honda Ridgeline) and will be called the F-100. Whether or not it will show up as a 2009 or 2010 model is yet to be seen. Stay tuned, we'll let you know when we hear anything official! In the mean time, check out our Ford Ranger section here. It may or may not look like the current Ranger available outside North America.

They have been talking about that happening for years but my inside person at Ford has never heard of it.

I'd hold my breath. Last time I check they were in a lawsuit over that diesel. Reports have said Chevy willl have a 1500 Diesel before Ford will.

The little diesels that Ford uses in there Rangers elsewhere in the world will not meet US especially Cali Emission standards.

A little birdie has told me that the F100 will replace the Explorer at Louisville Assembly Plant. But we shall see in a couple years.
As for the uni-body, let's see how it goes first, I don't see Ford building a truck after a car manufacturer. I mean the F series isn't the best selling truck line for what 29 years now for no reason.

^^That's all I know as well. It doesn't worry me though, if they are putting all this time into a "small" truck I would assume that it will be well worth the wait... :)
