2009 vs 2000

I am about to buy a truck to keep the miles off of my f150. I have narrowed it down to 2 trucks in my area. One is a 2000 4.0 v6 4wd extended cab with 140000 miles it has a lift and looks very clean. The other is a 2009 4cyl with 200000 on it. Very clean truck with some recent repairs. I’m looking for the most dependable of the 2. Both have advantages that will be nice but I am simply looking for which one you guys think will be the one that tears up the least considering I do my part. Thanks in advance

IMO, I'd would go with the 2000 because:
4.0
4WD
Ex Cab

I may be biased because I have a 1999 of the same.

Welcome to the forum

If either has a manual transmission then it would be best choice, period

If both are automatics
A 2WD will be less trouble than a 4x4, I know DUH
The 1990-2000 4.0l OHV was a good engine, reliable
The 2001-2011 2.3l Duratec 4cyl is also a reliable engine, turbo version is used in the 2019/20 Rangers

If MPG is a consideration then 2.3l of course and its not "lifted" so less wind resistance, smaller tires and less alignment issues

If you like the "look" of the lifted 4x4 then the choice is made, if its strictly about a daily driver then I would go with the 2009

The 2009 may have more miles on it but it is still a considerably newer vehicle. There many things that that age with time and can go bad even with lower mileage. If the 2009 is in good condition now, I would lean toward going with it. If it has an automatic, make sure it is in good condition. That is an expensive repair.
