2011 Ford P535 (Ranger)?
#26
Christ holy old link! that was a reference to the now dead F100 so its information is basically worthless now.
New Ranger is supposed to be on a global platform. It makes more sense for a lower volume vehicle to be on a shared platform with the rest of the world instead of a unique Ford NA only platform (modified F150.... F150 is basically NA only).
Ford has a ton of platform sharing now and is only gonna merge it as the years come down.

I would love to see a V8 in a ranger. But it isnt going to happen. Just think about it. I dont know why yall bought yalls rangers, but the target market for it is for people who dont want the biggest truck on the block. Thats what the F- line is for. If they were going to put a V8 in a ranger, it would lose its perpose as a midsize truck. People dont buy small trucks because they like tiny things. They buy it for fuel economy and overall functionality.

V8 on the new ranger and put a svt plate on it or gt, or ss or thunder lightning whatever it was called, so it can take on the colorados, every other company should put a v8 on their small trucks so we can take on camaros, mustangs, chargers, oh and hondas and then the take over the world

Maybe I missed it, and the link may be old but here is another one. It may make sense for Ford to go with the same platform. People still seem to be concerned with MPG. I see no reason to change vehicles. Pay for another vehicle, or pay for gas...

I know what you mean. I didn't want to go 3rd generation Ranger, but the price was right. And I hate carburetors.
I like a brick, a real brick with "F O R D" across the back of the tailgate. I could also forgo power steering, power brakes, independent front suspension, and want to beat the hell out of the puke who put a carpet in a pick up truck.
I am tolerant of AC, cloth seats, and rear sliders though. Let's bring back vent windows while we're at it.
