There's absolutely nothing turning on in my truck even though I changed the battery, I have checkled the cables which are still connected to everything, so I don't understand what the problem could be. This truck has no electric windows or other electronics except for the radio and lights. I disconnected the dome light several years ago because it would not turn off.

Welcome to the forum
Did you change the battery because "nothing would turn on"?
Or did you change the battery because engine wouldn't start, i.e. "click, click, click"?
And 2.3l engine or 4.0l engine, it may matter where fuses are concerned
Key off
Turn on the headlights
If headlights don't come on then battery is not hooked up to the vehicle, period, could be an issue with the battery cables AT the battery, or the other ends of those cables where they connect to the vehicles, need to follow each cable
You should have a Volt Meter or at least a 12volt test light for trouble shooting
Check fuse 9 in Engine Bay fuse box, 40amp, it powers ignition switch IF.....................battery is connected

If it worked before I'd say you got a defective battery with bad posts or they never added the acid at the factory, before you jump into anything crazy why don't you literally just test the battery with a multimeter or if you don't have one atleast touch the two posts with a socket or something to see if it even sparks

A voltage indicating test light is needed. It has a ground clip and a probe on the end of a 3 foot wire. you can probe for 12 volt power at the battery and on to the part. you also need ability to read a circuit diagram. after that the forum can help with diagrams and suggestions.
