Low rpm torque and traction FTW!!! I love my 3.0. Just needs a little help from Tom Morana.

 

my roommate and I had the same dispute with our trucks

he had a stock 1995 s-10 fuel injected 2.2 5 spd
i had my carbed 1987 2.3 5 spd

didnt have a tow rope so we just went bumper to bumper

i pushed his a$$ across the parking lot

he no longer makes fun of my little Ranger

Sick dude. Traction played a good role in that. Doesn't a 3.0 OHV have a low torque curve too? He probably never even got to his power band

 

haha thats awesome. funny all the smoke seemed to be coming from his front tires being locked up at the end

 

looks like u got the jump on his...either inexperienced driver or slow reaction. u are also taller which gives u better leverage and u obviously have wider tires which equals more traction.

leverage and traction win tug offs...i dont think u won because of the 3.0 i think u won because u have leverage and traction on ur side. try again with a similiar to urs but in a 4.SOHC.

Nice way to shut a guy up but it's easy to pull a vehicle once it has lost traction. He was too throttle happy.

There is a logical rational explanation for what took place and it was NOT your underpowered 3.0 ( is a monster from hell ) Just because your MIND is telling you that your ENGINE is the **** does not make it so in the real world.

The bottom line is that at that particular moment YOU won and hey that is all that really maters.

Geez guys, i didnt post this vid to say that the 3.0 is the s*** or that my truck is the s***

he was badmouthing my truck, saying his truck is more capable of pulling, and having superior off road capabilities in the traction department to me. i overheard him say to the kid next to him tht he would "drag me all over the parking lot" so i stood up, walked out to the parking lot and everyone followed. by the time he got out there my truck was in position and strapped, he couldnt decline then.

chill out guys, i know my 3.0 is inferior to your big bad 4.0, but my truck did have the advantage for our current set ups, which was what we were trying to compare

Okay, but if it was 4wd or a 4low pull would the 4.0 out pull him?? also would the a 5speed instead of auto change the odds a little?

I am not saying that just cause i have a 4.0 i will win.

 

I think if the kid with the 4.0l knew what he was doing, there would have been a better fight.

But still regardless of how you won, you did; and it pissed him off, haha.
