3,402.4 Mile Road Trip...and the Final Costs!
I just returned from driving from Northern Texas to Mid-North Carolina and back. My total mileage for the entire trip/vacation was 3,402.4 miles. I used a total of 160.546 gallons of fuel for a fuel economy of 21.2 MPG. The total gas cost was....$459.31!!! That means the next time I travel home, it will be by plane. This is freaking nuts. I didn't add in a hotel room plus food costs.
The most expensive fuel I purchased was in Chapel Hill, NC at $2.97 per gallon for 87 and the cheapest was in Oklahoma City, OK at $2.70 per gallon for 87.
My truck's specs are on the profile, and note I have a cap on the back of my Edge.

Shazam. Good point! Argh, I might look into ditching the truck cap for a tonneau cover. The cap gives you awesome storage capacity though.
