Need GPS advice

Guys / Gals,

I'm looking to buy a new GPS for under $300. I've owned one so far. It's a tomtom base model and works ok for the most part. I don't like two things about it. It's slow to find it's position after being turned on and it's doesn't have a good way to balance distance vs shortest drive time. It seems to want to go to either extreme. Not a deal breaker IMO.. just anoying..

I really only want to add one feature as we buy a new one. And that's Bluetooth communication with both our phones.

I was looking at the TomTom GO 630 I think this one is nice and can be bought new for around $150 But I see quite a number of comments about the bluetooth not working properly.

Any suggestions?

Regards,
Rich

Hands free phone usage. The tom tom has a FMtransmitter too. So I can play the 6GB worth of music I have on my blackberry through the cars radio. If a call comes in.. the music stops and I can talk on the phone completely hands free. I hang up and the music resumes.

I would go with a garmin also, ive always been happy with there products, mainly cause when your in the mountains you have to put alot of trust into your unit to get you back home safety, but I always carry a map and compass also...

My TomTom works good but my next GPS will be a garmin. The one stone posted would be a great GPS for the price your willing to spend.

I just bought a Garmin nuvi 255w and am very happy. Bluetooth isn't necessary just buy a headset for your phone save yourself a lot.

I've found the handsfree blootooth feature not very useful. I have a Garmin 265WT and it connects to my phone easily, but other callers complain of because of the wind/road noise the mic pics up. Just my experience with the handsfree feature.

The navigation, though, is excellent with the widescreen.

I got my daughter the nuvi 1300T.
It is slim line wide screen w/auto traffic updates and spoken directions.
Nice unit she likes it.
