4x2 Front ball joint seating

howdy neighbors

I finally got my first ever Ball Joint seated! Well sort of. I haven't torqued it yet. A couple if things I need your feedback on:

1. The nib that screws into the top and receives grease sheared off when I removed the grease gun. Can these be purchased individually and is there a trick for getting the remains that are threaded in there?

2. The top of the ball joint appears to be a out a 16th or 32nd of an inch off causing a slight lean. The split ring is in place. Will this seat itself when I lower the vehicle ?

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

Sorta seated!

There are a couple things you can do to get it to finish seating. One is go try using your press tool I hope you used and get it to seat properly. If you didn't use a press tool, get a socket, ratchet insert side down. And give it some even whacks to drive it in all the way. It's not a good idea to try and finish seating it by relying on weight pressure. Yes, you can buy just one zerk fitting. Try using a easy out tool to remove the broken thread bit. You may get lucky in getting it to back out using a reversed drill bit as well.
Nice job on taking this on and good luck finishing it up.

Thank you! I will see if I can get it seated properly before heading out in it.
