The best and cheapest way is with a parts truck. Watch craigslist and any local classifieds for a donor truck that has the same size motor and hopefully a similar year. In your case a 2001-2003 would be best. If you buy the parts individually it can add up quick.

Luckily you're an edge, so you have basically the set up for the swap from 2 to 4. But as said before, look for donor trucks locally in JY's and craigslist. Also, while you're at it, I would think about doing a manual case, since you're going to need a case anyways. When you start with where you're at, you have a lot more options for cases and what not. Don't forget, you'll need a 4wd tranny.

There is a member on here, Tyler, that has done the swap. But I don't remember his username for the life of me right now.. Someone help me out lol

Haha I ended up buying a new truck...I swapped everything over and then sold my old one. It worked out great in the end because I upgraded to a 4x4 with less miles, 3 years newer, all my old mods, and power everything for less than 2 grand.

in my opinion, the swap is worthwhile, to swap over to 4x4 is no real big headache, for the most part, the stock 4x4 front axle bolts up to the exact same location on either frame but you need to fabricate a mount. 4x4 spindles and everything else is bolt on. the transfercase is fairly easy to configure also, check out this thread on a conversion i was researching with when i was getting involved. it is a bit expensive to follow through, wspecially if you need alot of help to complete.

2wd Edge frame is the same frame as stock 4wd.

I spent about $1500 on the initial 4x4 conversion. Then my SAS cost around $3k.
