4x4 factory decals.
I just bought a 06 Ranger sport 4x4. I'd like to take the two stickers off the bed that say sport 4x4 but I'm worried I might damage the paint. Has anybody taken decals off a truck this age? It's the sonic blue and the paint is in great shape I'm just worried about pulling paint off or the clear coat.

If done right you will not harm the paint or clearcoat.
Get yourself a heat gun or use a hairdryer. On low heat warm a corner or edge of the decal/graphic, and pull the edge up. Work the dryer back and forth along the edge your pulling up, and gently peel it off. Kind of like peeling a band aid off.
If you do it right, it may just come off in one piece. If the decal breaks, just start the process over.
The residue left on the truck can be taken off with mineral spirits, or even WD40 . Spray it on, let it sit for a minute or two, and wipe it off.
Have taken off decals and vinyl graphics that were 20 years old and have never had a problem.
Area of paint under the graphic may look "brighter or newer" as the surrounding area has been hit by sun and weather.
