5.0l V8(explorer) and 5.0l coyote V8(Mustang) are unrelated engines, coyote is a Double over head cam(DOHC), 5.0l is over head valve(OHV)
5.0l is 18.75" wide, tight squeeze in Ranger engine bay
Coyote is 29" wide, there go the inner fenders and heater, and steering column, lol
Coyote is shorter at 24.5" without accessories
5.0l is 27.5"
5.0L is 20.75" high
Coyote is 29" high, this is what body lifts are for
While it would be an interesting swap, and an expensive one, I just don't think there is the room in the Ranger engine bay for the coyote engine without extensive fabrication and when you say "I don't wanna spend to much" well..............probably not the right engine for a Ranger on a budget.
5.0l is not expensive and there are the many upgrades available for it, and most of the Ranger 5.0l swap pitfalls are well documented.
I got the dimensions from here: http://www.hotrod.com/how-to/engine/...ne-swap-guide/
Good read on swapping in a coyote engine
