i dont know for sure, but you might be washing it too much, one of the catylists of rust is water. if its getting wet and the water is sitting in crevices where it doesnt have much time to dry this could possibly cause it? just a theory

that kind of rust comes from behind the panel so if youre not washing the underside of your truck, behind the fenders, tailgate, doors, rockers, ect. the rust will still form. washing the paint does nothing to protect the truck from rust.

^^^^ my exact thoughts when i first read it. just because u wash the painted area doesnt mean crap you need to get the mud and crap from behind the panels

Yea, North weather sucks. I've got a spot bubbling up on my hood i noticed the other day.
you should take your truck to the quarter wash and spray all the inside panels (inner fenders, bedsides, ETC) out every month or so, or if you have a pressure washer that wouldn't be too bad either.

i spray under there. i can see the pan on the under side of the bed's wheel wells are gone. no rust though.
i angle the power sprayer towards the underside of the fender and there is dirt and mud or whatever that comes out.

I always hose off behind the panels, nothing here. More salt and corrosive junk on the road then I've ever seen the last few years.

I actually keep the underside of my truck and onside the wheel wells/fenders pretty clean.

I can still change my oil in a white shirt and not get dirty. I am pretty peticular about that

Exactly, I go to the car wash once every couple months and spray underneath extensively to remove all the salt, in the winter its about once every 2 weeks to every 3 weeks, gotta get that salt off!

be sure to use blue painters tape on the inner lip around your wheel wells and wipe off any over spray immediatly
