'94 Ranger 4.0l 4x4 oil pan removal
Hi All:
Is it possible to remove the oil pan on a '94 Ranger 4.0L 4x4 without pulling the motor?
The only video I saw had the motor out, and they said I had to remove the flywheel (manual trans) Is this true?
I bet, at a minimum, I will have to unbolt the motor mounts and lift the motor, but can it be done at all? I already have the radiator out.
I had a funky rattling noise come up, then it sounded like something being thrown around in the crank case and breaking up into smaller bits and after a minute or 2 it went away.
I had hoped it was the timing chain guide (OHV, not SOHC), but alas, after removing the timing cover, the chain and guides seem perfect.
The motor seems to run fine, and no more noises but, of course, I'm sure it will break when It is 11 degrees out and 2 feet of snow.
Thanks for any insight,
Mark.
