My A/C compressor had been getting louder and louder, now it so loud i can here the compressor running with the hood closed and over the exhaust.

What i want to know is, is the bearing replaceable and if it is would you recommend replacing just the bearing or the whole compressor. I'm not having cooling problems, the A/C is cold.

 

yes the bearing is replaceable, but replace it before it siezes your compressor and you have to replace the whole compressor. Mine didn't make any sounds before it went out it just went one day. So yah replace it asap!

 

Is there a diagram with specs for the compressor, before i start to tear it down.
