96 Ranger Fuel Supply Lines????

So I bought this fuel harness for my dads truck but it is for an extended cab and is too long. I thought I could cut it to length and clamp the fitings back on but I have been told by a few guys that it woukd leak and never hold. Can anyone say if they have ever did this before or offer up suggestions??

I answered you over at the other forum, TRS

But just coil the extra line up under drivers seat area, or Look at Dorman Fuel Line Repair kit to cut and splice the fuel line, do that splice away from engine and exhaust area, in case it does leak at some point

Yea man I just read that. I was in the auto parts place a bit ago and the fella showed me the Doorman splice kit and he said all you do is heat it and you're done,no clamps.
