2004 Ford Ranger Edge 3.0 Manual


While driving the ac compressor will randomly shut off and not come on for an extended period(1-10 minutes). While the ac isn't working if I accelerate and then let off the truck will continue accelerating and if I hit the clutch the engine will rev up to 3-4k rpms and hold there for random amounts of time (5-30 seconds). If I turn the ac switch to off the engine will immediately rev back down.


IAC was replaced and didn't change anything

TPS has been tested and seems to be working correctly

Freon levels are good


Mechanic thinks it's the computer malfunctioning, any ideas before I order one?
