I don't have any pics because this happened in the rain at night weds, and the only camera i had was my blackberry. But my brakes locked up and I hydroplaned into a toll booth at about 40 mph and smashed the front of the truck up and tore off the divers side wheel. The timing was great because I had class and work all yesterday so when my claims adjuster from my insurance tried calling me I couldnt answer, and when I called her back she wouldn't answer. I called her about 10 times and she tried calling me about 4 all day...

now it's the 4th and I have no vehicle and havent heard from insurance, and my truck is at a salvage yard that I am praying wont steal all my audio and other equipment out of. I'm sore and frustrated. I did not like my truck anymore, to the point that I almost hated it. I'd rather have it bac for another 5 years than go through all this **** right now

Glad you're ok man. I hydroplaned last weekend about the same speed going up I-75 for probably about 10-15 seconds. I was all over the road and it scared the hell out of me. I thought for sure I was going into the wall. Hope it all works out for ya!

 

Sheetmetal can be replaced you can't. My dad told me that after my first accident. Glad your ok.

Just as I thought, the insurance company "totaled" the truck as soon as they got first glance. I'm still without vehicle....*sigh*. I was told I would have a figure to shop with as of the 11th. Friday came and went without a word from them. oh well.

I have my eye on an `06 Liberty that is what I want for the right price.


oh and for the record, the lane of the toll booth I was going through was unmanned. I dont know what other states have but in FL we have what's called Sunpass/E-pass that takes money out of an account for frequent travelers. That's why I still had a decent amount of speed going into the toll.
