Add another wrecked file.

So I had just got done eating up town (small town 400 people), and was leaving to go home and finish the lawn. As I was taking off my gas pedal got stuck under the good old' carpet protecting floor mat. I had two options as I rounded the corner, guy or dump-truck (that was parked in the middle of the road for no apparent reason). So I picked the better of the two and shmucked the dump-truck. I'll get pics some time this week, it was pretty exciting to see airbags launching into my face, lol. Thank God that no one was injured or killed. Let this be a lesson to everyone on floormats. Secure them so they can't move at all, 2 feet to my left was all it could have taken for people to die.

next time that happens (hopefully never) choose option 3: turn ignition off.

that sucks... did you try hard breaking? I would think trying to stop would at least slow you down.

I would of put it in neutral and slammed on the brakes and THEN turned it off. If he would of turned it off he would of had no control of the truck. Glad to hear no one got hurt!

you would still be able to stop and turn. you don't need the truck to be running in order to use the brakes and the steering.

Yeah but if the key goes off you don't want the steering wheel to lock. That would be worse.

in the acc on position you can still turn the steering wheel without fear of lock. besides, why would you want to turn excessively in that situation unless you have always wanted to know what it felt like to flip your truck over.

It was just around a corner...literally no time to react...I was on the brakes, but that wasn't slowing it down, just burning more rubber. Pics soon
