Air cleaner housing years

Went to jy today looking for a cleaner housing. What years and models would work on my truck. Ditching the K&N for stock after 10 years & I got rid of mine years ago. I found one on a Explorer but it did not fit. My Maf was to big and I could not get the housing to close the correct way. And it would not line up with the hole in the fender. Any suggestions?

Having to many issues with it fouling my MAF. Oiling it correctly and after a few days it starts fouling it up and the truck runs like crap. Had it 10 years now and not sure if it's the filter itself but it doesn't add anything extra anyway. It is also a hassle to clean, let it air dry and then reoil.

I'm all for that. A few of the pleats in the filter are bent a bit. I straightened most of them out but not all the way. I also have the cleaner and oil.

Are we positive your airbox will work on mine? It's a conical filter correct? And I would need the airbox before I ship the K&N as I would be running without a filter. I'm sure you'll be in the same boat without a box.

all 3.0 and 4.0 air intake boxes are identical. explorer boxes are a bit bigger I have noticed however as I tried to exchange my old damaged box for a new one. I ended up nabbing one from a junkyard off an 04 and your stock air filter will not be conical unless you buy the MAF to filter adapter for fords otherwise itll be a normal flat box type filter. last but not least; that cleaner sh*t they try to make you believe does miracles to your filter doesnt do anything. at most it is a polar liquid (like water) and is supposed to ward off any particles that are oppositely charged but then again your engine is sucking in air, particles aren't going to just bounce off the filter. clean your MAF and dont use those chemicals

Umm have you tried not oiling it?

That is the issue. If you don't add the oil it won't mess with your MAF.

I keep rubbing salt in my open wound and it keeps hurting..what do I do?

Thought it needs the oil to filter out the particles? But I'll give a shot without the oil.

All 4.0 OHV have the cone filter that I know of. The OHC have a flat filter.
Do you mean the oil not the cleaner?
