All body lift kits the same?

I'm looking to buy a 3" body lift kit, but I don't' know if I should be looking for a specific kind or anything. Are some better than others or are they all the same?

Pretty much all the same. Buy a Summit Racing brand and save yourself some $$$

More or less. You could do it in your driveway in about a day. Or find some R-F buddies near you and buy a huge case of beer and some pizza and knock it out in a few hours.

And you should probably read this, ALL of this:

I haven't yet bought a truck, but the ones i'm looking at are 2001, 1998, and a 2000.

Any idea about how much they will charge?

Well most shops charge around $80 an hour and it can take up to 10 hours to install a body lift.

of the 4 that came only 1 lived in Missouri with me the others traveled over 200 miles to come help out.

Im sure there are some members on here that live in Ohio that would help

We used the summit kit on my 05 which was meant for 1998-2000 ranger everything worked out fine except for the rear bumper brackets and fuel filler neck

for like 2.00 dollars at lowes we got a metal pipe with threads on the end to fix the fuel filler.

Then we just drilled new holes for the rear bumper bracket

I was 18 had nothing for tools, No help(other than RF) and no exeriance with lifting a truck what so ever... worked on cars but nothing major... I got the PA Kit and did it myself in two days.. Granted I had to buy or borrow some things but if you follow the instructions it will be a breeze
