Alright.. Lets See Where Your CB"S Are Mounted

I have mine clipped on right behind my steering wheel on the right hand side. nice and convienient and i can remove it if i want. I also have a quick disconnect on my antenna which resides on my bed rail right above one of the stake pockets.
I just tried to do that.. the only problem with that is.. when u put your speaker in there.. u wont be ablle to here it.. and also the cb i have is to long to fit all they way in there.. so i decide not to do it like that.. I will post pics later....
I'll Bite...
I didn't feel like putting holes in anything so I built a small L shaped bracket that squeezed between the seats and mounted the radio to that. I spliced the power from the 12v outlet on the dash and fed it through the split loom tubing and soldered a DC quick connect plug on it so I could take the radio out if needed. Its been working great for months now and I get a hell of a range with the two 4' Firestiks. I know they are not properly placed but they calibrated fine and I've got a confirmed ranged of over 9 miles (thats all I've tested so far) and it was clear as day. I also ran the power cables for my amp through that tubing. Worked like a charm and I didnt destroy anything in the process
