I have had my 40 series flow for over a month now and everyone loves how it sounds on my 4 banger but its quiet, the ranger it came off of was 3 times as loud as mine and its the same truck, was a 96 single cab 5spd 2.3, and mine is a 97 ext. cab? whats the deal, we both used stock pipe and have the muffler in the stock location with a 5 inch tip as a turn down...anyway i can make it louder? My shop teacher told me to put a glass pack before it and it would rumble more...never thought of that til today

Take off ur resonator

 

i have a glasspack on my truck, but its a 3.0, sounds pretty good up to about 3500 rpms' then it gets a little ricey, but not to bad.


id say throw a glasspack on it, it will make it louder, and give it the rumble your looking for.

ya but if you put both it will make it quieter... its a muffler just like any other..

AND glasspacks can be installed two ways quiet and loud so to speak.. look down inside and youl see little scoop lookin things if you put the scoops to "scoop" exhaust it will be quite.. otherway is louder..

no it was a stock truck, jus like mine...its odd, where is the resonator
or would that be the cat? kinda lost me there, but i was taking about adding the glass pack with the muffler but like u said, 2 mufflers would be quieter, didnt think of it like that

nope jus the stock one, i just asked him did he have his cat on or was it gutted? i dont know what he did with his but i am going to find out when he gets off work
