Another how rare is my Ranger post, lol.

My 2003 XL has CLOTH seats, every other XL of the same era (01-03) that I have seen has the, IMO, flat-as-a pancake vinyl seats. How rare is mine? Also was this a stand-alone option or not? EDIT: Also, my truck is a regular cab.

Not rare. Cloth seats have always been optional with XL trim. Vinyl is more common, but cloth isn't rare.

I've been looking around online and it seems to be that regular cab XL's had vinyl; super cab XL's had cloth.

I had a 2008 XL reg. cab, and it had cloth 60/40 seats.

Wait, nevermind, i'm an idiot. Didn't pay much attention to it being a 2003.

The vinyl seats were not available in Super Cabs after 1998 because they did not have the slide forward function to access the rear of the cab. It was cheaper for Ford to just throw in cloth seats that did. Regular cabs have vinyl standard, but cloth has always been optional.

I agree, just more stuff to go wrong anyway. However, the only thing I really wish it had was Speed/Cruise Control. But you can't bi*ch about a free vehicle.

Now that my XLT looks like an XL with XLT badging I'm thinking maybe I should've just bought an XL w/2.3 - Auto, and saved some money.
