anyone got a moon visor?
No this visor is a plain black Lund one it has stamped on it for a 93 s10 chev. It still fit pretty good. No lights on it. I do however have a new set of led clearance lights I’m debating on installing, they are the black ones ( smoked) with white leds. I’m just wondering if it would look like overkill with normal clearances lights on there too.
Do you have any pics of your clearance light project ? How’d it turn out

thanks scrambler, hoping to get another few years out of the truck. Gotta do the rockers as my next project. Couldn’t find them locally so I’ll probably get a sheet metal place to fabricate them for me
The Clearance Lighting, do you plan the Ford layout or the DOT layout ?
(Ford is evenly spaced lighting and DOT has the three centered and then two outward lighting) !
I have always been a fan of the DOT Layout, don't know why Ford had to do the spacing differently.
What was the brand of the Butyl Rubber you used, and what screws did you use to mount the Visor ?
And me too on keeping the trucks for a few more years, my '03 hasn't broken 100K yet, I been lucky with her and would like to keep her for sometime more but I know she will start to decay under me if I don't sell her off.
Maybe the new Bronco will tell a new story.

I guess these trucks are getting to old to have the parts ready and waiting.

i like the dot style that you mentioned as well, with the visor taking up space I think the center light may have to get attached to the back of the visor as it’s right in the center. The butyl I got on amazon I think it’s called Dicor. Seems like a putty. My truck has almost 450,000 kms on it so far. My parts truck is a fx4 as well. Other then the rockers starting to get bad it’s still in decent shape for the going it does. I used galvanized self tappers with a hex head on them and then I sealed over top of the bolts with black sealant
The lights, I used the next Generation of Lund Visor Lights, the Visor is called the "The Sun Visor II, the lights are low profile, smaller than the full size Cab Light, very light weight, and they take two holes per light to mount and one small hole for the wires.
The Visor is actually setup for the DOT Layout and allows an area to mount the lights, I just need to get my visor painted mount the lights and get the wiring done, then install.
Any tips on the install ?
This is a pic of the Sun Visor II, again I only used the lights.
Here is a link for info purposes "https://dicksautoparts.com/i-2389555...light-kit.html", I didn't buy mine from this store but it was the only one I could get a listing for. I got my lights off of eBay, $25.00, got lucky... just thowing out ideas, that's all !
p.s., not a biggy but I have family in Novi, where is "NL" Canada ?

With regards to the visor install, it was pretty simple. I made pads out of butyl where the visor touches the roof. Ensure you know the exact location you want the visor in before you lay it on the roof. The butyl will start to adhere to the roof when you lay the visor over it. So basically know exactly where you are “landing” that visor. I self tapped the exterior screws then worked my way in. The clearance lights I got are ram style lights I think they’re xbrite smoked ones. I haven’t done the clearance lights yet. I’ve been debating on using the factory foam gasket or cutting butyl in the shape of those foam gasket and using that instead. The clearance lights only has 2 small machine screws and one small hole for the wires as you mentioned. I’m not too worried about water ingress. I think it will be minimized. Where the wires come through the roof I’m probably going to use 100% waterproof silicone to keep them in place.

The Install, a few questions:
Did you have the headliner out during the install ?
How long were the screw you used ?
The Silicone you will use, why not some Butyl Rubber around the holes AND if you got the smaller lights, mounted to the Visor, you would only have one hole for the wire, mine will be on the Driver's side of the cab, slightly under the visor and sealed with Butyl Rubber. or Windshield Sealer, which might be the same thing in a different form.
Mounting the Lights on the Cab, creates too many hole, not for me.
Thanks for the info !
Those lights you got posted seem like a good idea,I’d like smoked or black ones. They remind me of the lights you’d see on motorcycles, teardrop style. They can be had for pretty cheap
. Yes SoCal sounds pretty nice, I liked the southern states
