hey everyone im in the process of rebuilding an 89 ranger 2wd 5sd... but i have hit a dead end i can't seem to figure out how to take the shifter off the transmission? anyone got a tips??? thanks

 

with the 93+ ranger you have to take the bolt out of the one side of the shifted and tighten it back on the other side. its a weird type of nut and it pulls the peg out from the shifter. hope that helps. i'm not sure about 89s.
