ashtray/cupholder question

how do you remove the freakin thing!
its an 01 auto if that helps

but im taking my carpet out to deaden the whole cab and the cupholder needs to come out but i cant figure it out!

Theres little inserts in the cupholders you have to pop out then screws under those.

PS next time do a search, this was just asked.

in the cup holder there is a clip. use a big flat head screw driver. it'd the simplest contraption in the truck.

... i thought that was plastic not a little mat that could be picked up.
