Ballistic Fab diff cover

Figures the only spot on my truck that has some rust thats beginning to bubble is my rear diff cover so i'm looking for a new one.

I saw ballistic fab has one for the 8.8, has anyone run this cover before? I'm curious for clearance with the ring gear as i know some of the SOLID covers make contact with the ring gear on select trucks. I wouldn't mind a solid cover but i can't find the exact issue with them on here.

thanks

I haven't seen anyone with that particular one but it looks beef. I've seen several people with the ruffstuff one and it's supposed to be good. I've got the Blue Torch Fab cover and it's beefy and fit's nice.

Ballistic has had issues with customer service, be wary. Search yields a **** ton of people who have had issues with them. Mostly on pirate. I am pretty sure they were pulled as a sponsor there. What about the aluminum one from mag-hytec?
Ford #10-8.8 [Ford #10-8.8] - $255.00 : Mag-Hytec

It's costly but you don't wheel enough where it's gonna get damaged.

Get one with a fill and drain plug !

Future lube change will be easier.

I was looking at the SOLID cover, but I read that clearance with 4.10s was an issue.

my rear diff drags and hits rocks too much when i do go wheeling that I would run a high risk of that thing getting bent lol
I'd obliterate them pretty easily if they screwed around and not sent my cover or something

Koyn had those solid covers front(D44) and rear(8.8) and I don't recall him having any clearance issues. He ran 4.88s and 5.13s.

Off topic momentarily.

Have you ever put any pressure on that rear shackle?

If so, did you see any flexing/bending of the tubing?

oh yeah plenty of times. ive drug jeeps around and pulled sleds etc... There is a video of me pulling toreador4x4 ranger up a hill at he sand dunes then i drug him around running like 30ish just to show off. lol

No change in frame, its all .120 DOM I really doubt it will bend unless I was using a jerk strap and just yanking and pulling but I wouldnt recommend that with any truck. My ranger knows all about that yanking and pulling crap. lol

cant go wrong with a ruffstuff cover.. youll never break one. i had to grind it a tad for the ring gear, but that is hit or miss from what ive read.

dont get why people would buy that for $60, but not pay $30 more for a legit full cover...

I bought it because I needed a cover in my hands yesterday. Maybe if i had a solid axle truck like Zach I'd wait to have a cover shipped since its an actual trail rig. I don't need anything overkill but a little added protection wont hurt.
