balljoints rubbing on rims
balljoints rubbing on rims
So i just had a friend replace my rotors and brake pads on the front of my 2003 ranger. Shortly thereafter, my rims began making a lot of noise, especially when turning. As a result a groove is being etched into the rims from the scraping. Was it something from the brake job or could it be that ball joints or something else is failing? Open to suggestions. Thanks.
It's likely one of the caliper bracket bolts backed out and now the caliper is moving and hitting the rotor/wheel. You're supposed to loctite them to keep them from backing out but this likely wasn't done. If you keep driving the truck like this, you will destroy the new rotors and pads, possibly the wheel, and likely the caliper bracket too if it gets caught in the wheel.
