Best MPG we ever got
And it happened this weekend. Went to the Carlisle All Truck Nats and managed 20.3 mpg round trip. thats with an 04 Edge ECSB 4x4 4.0/Auto with 285/75/16s. only go mods are custom cat back exhaust and routine maintaince. i was leading in my bomber and had the cruise set at 70 most of the time which helped a lot.
so, these trucks can achieve an honest 20 mpg on a daily basis if driven right.

That is very good, and it is funny because I just filled up mine last night and I was pleasantly surprised. I drove about 300 miles over the past two weeks and all of it was city driving. I averaged 17.9mpg, wow!! I can't wait to take it on the highway and see what it can do. Details: 2000 3.0L 2WD with K&N drop-in air filter, Mobil 1 oil and filter, and 89 performance tune from my X-Cal II.

I've averaged 21.7mpg for the last 6 fillups. I'm pushing to hit 23mpg... at least 22.5mpg, I just keep on changing my driving style to see what works.
Thats on 33's with a tune and catback exhaust. I seem to be getting better mileage now after running seafoam through and changing my plugs/wires. Hopefully that'll do it.

I routinely get 20mpg out of my Level II. Mixed city/highway. Short runs kill the mileage though. If I drive really careful, I imagine I could squeeze around 600km out of a tank of gas - that's about 370mi. I'd try it on my next trip to the Rockies next week, but the fact that the last 130km has no services deters me somewhat. Maybe I'll pack along some gas cans.

My dad has a 99 4.0L XLT 4 wheel drive extended cab with an auto. Was getting 16 mpg with the stock 4.10s, put in 3.55 gears and he gets 24mpg mostly highway. I drove it and it doesn't feel too slow but it just chugging along on the highway, can hardly hear it running even with the magnaflow cat back. Its sweet. We just need to get 3.55s in the front axle before winter time.
