best RPM range for driving the 3.0L Duratorq

Just wondering whats the best way to drive this 3.0L diesel? my previous ranger was an auto so it was foot down and go, the new one is a manual so trying to keep the tacho between the 2000-3000 RPM range most of the time, constantly finding old habits sneaking in and notice the tacho lower in the 1500 RPM range which feels a bit sluggish, spent many years driving large trucks for work, and it seems the old ear settles back into the lower RPM.
what do you guys recommend as far as the RPM range for the 3.0L to keep it happy without over revving or laboring too much, pros and cons of each would be great.
thanks in advance

I have driven large trucks and unless I was pulling a very heavy load 1800-1900 rpm was the shift point. I would also look at the rpm at 60mph or 100kph in the top gear and use that as max shift point.

thanks for the reply, most of the gears have a 1000 rpm gap between gears except 4th to 5th which is only 500 rpm, so the max rpm that I go to is 2500 to 3000 rpm, even tho the redline is over 4000 rpm
