Big block V8 swap?

I am looking at trying to cram a 460 into an 83 ranger. I saw there were some v6 bronco 2 swap kits. I know bronco 2s are essentially a glorified ranger, so does anyone know if this could fit?

Welcome to the forum

Yes it can/has been done, but not a recommended swap because the frame will need re-enforcement because of the weight and torque from a big block, it is a Body Off build
You need to lose the heater/blower box and offset the steering shaft, move the steering box
Either cut back firewall and/or move radiator to in front of rad support, Big blocks are too long, lol

Not sure what would be in a "kit", its pretty much a custom build, nothing in a Ranger or B2 drive train can be used with a big block

302/5.0l fits in a Ranger engine bay and can be built to 300hp fairly inexpensively, 460 you are likely to get was 250hp, maybe 275hp, and weights a lot more than the 302

V8

The reason I was saying this was because I have a 460 for free. Maybe I could just get an f100 to put it in then.
