Bilstein shock question

I have to replace my shocks and I'm gonna go with Bilstein's. Most every one on here use the 5100 series can I use the 5100 series on a stock height ranger.

welp......we know nothing about the truck you are working on.... we kinda need that to answer your question. Or....how about you do what everybody else does that aren't or are in forum land....search the manufacturer's website...or online stores....or going to a local auto parts store...

Most run 5100's? really?

I don't know what im running.

Front - F4-BE5-2794-H0
Rear - F4-BE5-2795-H0

http://www.truckspring.com/bilstein-...5-2794-h0.html

Those are the ones on my truck and I'm 100% stock height, not even a T-bar lift. I love my Bilsteins.

And Bilstein doesn't make any 5100's for it. At least not the front.

They do however make the heavy duty's for your truck. Scroll up a few posts and you see pics and links to those shocks that Bilstein makes for your truck.

going off of memory here since I don't have the paper near me, but rear RCD 5100s....

extended 29.7 inches
collapsed 17.9 inches
travel 11.75 inches

That was per whoever i spoke with at RCD 2 weeks ago so that I could order fox's for the rear.

Bilstein should offer OEM replacements for an 02 xlt 4x4. Suspension should not be much, if any, different than an 03 or 04 xlt. I assume this particularly since those 3 years had bilstein shocks for OEM application with the FX4/FX4 Level II trim packages!

Bilstein, Innovation and High Quality Since 1873 - You searched for parts that match a 2002 FORD RANGER

FOX RACING SHOX :: OFFROAD : OE REPLACEMENT :

Off Road Warehouse - Shocks for 2002 Ford Ranger

I HIGHLY recommend calling Off Road Warehouse (aka ORW). Talk to Nick, tell him Chris in New Mexico sent you. He should definitely be able to help you out on OE replacement of your shocks, be they Bilstein or Fox. Personally, I'd go with the Fox shox but you're going to also pay a little more. They are rebuildable and can be revalved. ORW can do this for you, the fox shocks are currently 10% off, AND valving the shock the first time is free! I spoke with Nick for a couple hours yesterday and kind of regret getting my fox shocks from the local 4 wheel parts store now.

i had to add them on the top part.... b/c it nut ran out of threads and wouldnt go down far enough to get a tight grip to where the shock would move around
