The shocks need to have more travel then that. You can get Bilstein shocks that will work on the rear, but you will have a tough time finding shocks for the front because of how it mounts. Most people add an extension on the top of the front shocks to accommodate for the extra length that is needed. If you do this then you can use the regular Bilstein HD shocks, which I am currently trying to sell.

Make sure the shock has the following specs for a direct replacement:

Extended Length (in): 20.910 in.
Collapsed Length (in): 14.910 in.
Upper Mount: Stud
Lower Mount: Bar pin

If not, you would need an extension like this:

Nothing will bolt up. Only superlift makes shocks that'll fit/aka 'bolt-on'.

And KLC...HOLY CRAP!! INFO LINKS PLEASE!! Get me some 5100's for a 2wd Edge and use those extentions!! But long and ugly extentions.

I just saw this...

Off hand I'm not sure what the thread size is, but here are some that might work: Shock Extensions For Small Body Pro & Large Body Bilstein Shocks

There are a few other sites that sell these as well so I'm sure once you knew the thread size and length needed you could find them.

I know this thread is almost 3 years old but.. I'm currently in the process of buying a Superlift kit.. And i don't want their shocks, i want Bilstein ones!! So if i got it right, i can order regular Bilstein HD as if my truck (a 2010 FX4) was not lift at all, and simply buy those strut extender and that will fit??

1 - Any drawback by doing this?
2 - What lenght and size do i need for the extension?
3 - Where can i find them?
