BL in progress NEED HELP!!!!

Ok guys me and Clay(cchsbuzz19) are tackling my Body Lift on my truck and were having trouble with the front body mount bolts He doesn't remember exactly how he got his out and were stumped. We got the nut off the top the bolt just won't break free from that huge washer(is it lock tight that is keeping it from coming loose?). We've tried heat, and we've tried to grip the washer and try and turn it with the socket but no luck, What are we doing wrong????

Help would be much appreciated!!!

Thanks,
Israel

I had the same problem with mine when we put my BL on.. All i know to do, and someone else I'm sure has a better idea, is to find some way of holding on to that thing, and get someone to turn the crap out of the bolt.. So pretty much what your doing. Haha. Put some serious umph into it!

I think when I did mine we ended up using map gas and heating the bolt up. Then used channel locks on it to hold the washer thing if I remember right.

Thats what were using Josh but they just won't come out. We sort of moved to lifting the cab, and for some reason the cab is catching something on the frame cause the left front wheel is coming off the ground as were putting in the driverside middle block. We dropped the radiator, extended the steering, dropped the brake lines, extended the man. tranny, extended the ground wire, We are clueless to what it could be. Anything that we could be missing? Oh this is Clay haha.

I just did this last weekend, I had trouble with those mounts too. I had to go and buy a pipe wrench. Once I got the pipe wrench on that top washer/plate the bolt came out no problem. You're going to need either a breaker bar or a pipe to slide over your socket driver. Most may disagree with me but I heated the first bolt and it made it harder to come out. It melted the bushing to the bolt and it was a fight the entire way out. I didn't heat the second one and it came out with half the effort.

So yeah you just have to secure that metal washer whatever way you can and the bolt will come out with enough force.

And the wheel is coming off the ground because you haven't taken the front mounts off yet. Good luck.

Thanks again to everyone for all the help....it was a success, i just had to cut the top of the bolts with a hacksaw so they had less distance that i had to take them out. The bolts put up a good fight the entire way, but they eventually came out.
