ok so i think i have air in my line,,, so i was guna bleed the air out, i searched on here and found several threads about doing it, how to do so, but when i took th erubber seal off my tranny bell housing that has the valve in it... i had no idea what to do, is there a screw? a lever?lol, or what? If anyone has any pictures of what i should look for or what to do it would be greatly appreciatted. i understand that i need to open the master cyl reservoir. open valve, pump cluth while making sure i have constant fluid, to get al air bubbles out. but i dont know how/or what to do with the valve.... i can't really see in there, any tips?

cant help ya too much but what i do know is you do it like you bleed your brakes one guy with the wrench loosening while one guy pumps clutch pedal and hold while the wrench guy retightens. Just repeat a few times until clutch peadal is firm.

 

once you take that black cap off the is the valve. i don't remember what size socket you need. but lefty loosey and righty tighty

 

i use a vac pump on mine works like a champ just open the bleader valve atach the pump and just keep breakfluid in the res the pump will do the rest lol

 

LOL ,why would you use brakefluid when bleeding the clutch????

 

thats what kind of fluid it takes they don't make clutch fluid.

 

castrol makes a clutch fluid but its alot more expensive than DOT-3 brake fluid ... so just stick with brake fluid and know this DO NOT GET IT ON YOUR PAINT! it will eat it alive... i learned this from expierence...

i had same problem... but muff. bearing grease? does that stuff work as good as ive been told, fixes old squeaky exhausts? if so i need some!

 

Yeah it works freakin awesome, I used it on our 89.

ok so i looked in the black cap and saw only one "bolt" head. maybe like a 10mm wrench....... is that the valve? and it's so far in the bell housing... how do you get a wrench long enough to turn the damn thing?... i didn't mess with anything... does anyone have a pic of the actual valve in there? i have a 2001..... so stuck here guys..

 

I use a deep 8mm socket and a 1/4" ratchet. Can't get a wrench in there at all.

Fill resevour, put cap on, open bleeder and let the fluid drain out using gravity until it'sa solid stream, then close. then have an assistant slowly push in and let off of the clutch pedal 3 times. let the assistant hold the pedal to the floor, then open the bleeder and watch your face. it'll shoot out. I like to do this cycle 3 times then call it good. Always watch your resevour to make sure it's full.

ok thats not what i was looking at at all..... mine was a kind square black cap that looked way way way inside the bell housing at what looked kinda like a "cv joint" although i totally know its not....lol just looks like that black rubber spinny thing.lol so am i looking at the wrong thing... is what im looking at what is posted in the pic? on a 2001?

 

pictured is my stock 2001 transmission. should be exactly the same as any M5od-r1 ranger and F150 trans.

I really dont know what you're lookin' at other than you might have a slave that has the spring covered by a rubber boot...that might look like a CV boot. idk.
