body shop opinions

well this is a very general question on what would guys have done and what do you think i should do in my current situation, well i'll start with the story i bought my brand new 2009 ranger sport 4x4, on February 21 2010 a damn little red hyundai cut in front of me on the 401 it looked to be a nice day the roads were clear nothing going on so to avoid hitting him i begin to slow down and wouldn't you know my luck i hit a patch of black ice out of no were the truck goes sideways across 3 lanes of traffic and smashes head first into the concrete barrier at this point the fun ain't done yet the truck had enough momentum to then continue on spinning and smashes the passenger rear light to pieces and wedges the body panel up so far it bent the bed support beam, the head on impact hit so hard the hood shifted and the driver side panel wedged back enough to stop my door from opening, aswell as all that she hit so hard it nocked all the tranny fluid out of the truck, next my tool box that was on my backrack, rips right off and sits nicely in the box the back rack tears open the box side post holes and the bolt puts a nice hole in the back of the cab, that should about do it o wait i forgot the next best part the stupid sandbags i had int he back that were supposed to way it down and prevent this exact thing from happening came back and smashed my tail gate right off. so theres the accident report so far pics were posted earlier of the damage so i wont repost those, now onto the next part they towed it and if you recall it has no tranny fluid in it so he actually fried my tranny gears. so it goes to some shop that the driver recommends at this point I'm in no state of mind to think about things like auto shops, it stayed in that shop for 2 months, then i got it back all scratched up and lookin like **** they said prove we did it, now at this point i was so pissed i pulled it out because i didn't want any more damage done to the truck it needed everything including a new tranny so that mean is have a lifetime warranty on that which is nice, now onto the point of all this my current situation

first off the support beam for the bed is still bent never got touched, next i'm getting condensation in different lights around the truck as well as some lights aren't working, next up is the work on the tail gate when i put the gate down one cord is tight the other one has slack so it wasn't properly mounted, and one to my grand finale is in all this chaos i mean full frontal collision as well as rear enough power to knock the tranny fluid out, block my door from opening, and the rear hit so hard that it bent a piece all the way up in the top of the bed and the air bags did not deploy, were are these damn sensors and why didn't they deploy is this something i should consider fighting ford on.

on to the pics

this is the weld job they did on my bed

Dude I can't even read that. Honestly. Use some freaking punctuation if you want people to respond.

If you are not satisfied with the work, take it back. If it's still not right, take it back again. Get a lawyer if you aren't getting anywhere.

no dont fight ford...airbags deployment doesnt depend on speed or amount of damage...it all depends on the rate of deceleration. the reason they didnt deploy is because they didnt have to. if they would have deployed it most likely would have caused more harm than good...now to the issue of the body work, if you arent satisfied with the work go back to the body shop and explain your problems with the repair and see if you get anywhere if you dont then get a lawyer and go after the body shop

I'm guessing the work done by the body shop was covered by your insurance? My guess is they took the money, did minimal work to get it by hoping you wouldn't notice.

Take it back, make them fix it. If it was in good shape before the wreck, you should get it returned in good condition. It's their job to repair it, or say they can't so it can be totaled.

Anyway, I agree on the punctuation... commas and periods... and hit enter a couple times to break it up a little bit.

^i go to school for collision repair and the ultimate goal for repairing a car/truck is get it returned to the customer in the state it was before the accident and have the repairs not be obvious to the naked eye

+1 on punctuation. Break up the paragraph a bit and it will be easier to get an idea of what is going on.

Are the lights OEM or aftermarket? What does the estimate say they did to it? If you don't have a copy, the insurance should. Get a copy and see what they said was done.

Obviously some work was left undone. I said it in the other thread too, but talk to the insurance and let them know you are not happy. Then work it out to take it back to the shop.

What you are seeing where the screws are is not a weld, it looks like seam sealer that was applied when the replaced the bedside. It probably could have been done neater, but there is nothing functionally wrong with it. It however, is kind of a sign that work was done to the truck though.

As was said, airbag sensors rely on deceleration G forces to tell them to deploy. It must have been below that threshold. Having been in an accident where the airbags went off though, I can tell you it certainly sucks. Nothing like getting a HUGE hit of airbag gas in the lungs after they pop to make you damn near throw up.
