Stupid body repair shop
My truck had FX4 OFF ROAD stickers on it even though it can clearly not be an FX4. The stickers were on there when I bought it and I just kept them since it looked good. Well the stickers were now faded so I was planning on taking them off and making my own custom 4x4 stickers.
I started peeling off the stickers tonight and got the passenger side done. I then started doing the drivers side and found it more difficult. Halfway through removing the driver's side sticker, I realized that some clear coat came off at the edge of the sticker. Upon closer inspection I realized that the whole sticker had been painted over with clear coat. The F part in FX4 did not match the rest of the sticker. There in fact was an F sticker over the FX4 sticker. The body shop had started peeling off the F, decided it would be too much work, sprayed clear coat over the whole sticker, then put on a new F over the F which was partially peeled.
So now there is a ridge where the edges of the stickers were and a very noticeable color difference. So now I have to wet sand all the ridges in the paint and try to match up a new fx4 sticker over the spot of the old one. My plans for a custom sticker are now out the window.
Does anyone know where I can get these FX4 stickers? how much are they at the dealership? I sure hope the stickers that were on there were legit, or else matching them up will be a pain.

I would too. I would make them repaint the whole fender. I found out on carfax that I am the seventh owner and that the truck had hit a guardrail and struck a deer sometime later. The guardrail incident is probably when the sticker got painted over.

Well they started peeling off the sticker and then covered up their mistake with part of another sticker. Eventually the stickers will fade like mine did and mismatch because of having only some of the sticker clear coated. That is just crappy half-assed workmanship.
