Bought a $500 94 ranger 4x4 today. School me

Found it on craigslist and went and pick it up. Its a 94 white extended cab 4x4, automatic, manual windows and doors. speedo says 55k but the previous owner registered it when it was workin and it had 100k. he said he put at least 10k on it. i could care less really.

Any way what should i check on this thing, what are the common problems? i know i need to get a set of valve cover gaskets cause the drivers side is leaking. thats as far as i got today b/c it just got dark out. thanks!

for that year it is either the 4.0 or the 3.0 and both are very good engines

Do the Seafoam BEFORE you put in your new plugs. Seafoam may foul them up. It did on my 1998 3.0

for your dome light problem, the switch on one of your doors(door jambs) is most likely stuck in the "on" position

When I get home from work tomorrow I'll pop the hood on my '94 B-4000 and see what hose goes where. It's 3* out right now and dark with the current windchill somewhere around -20.
