I'm overdue for a brake job. Ok, so I need new front disks, pads and also some read pads. Head down to my local auto parts store and find out there are litterally 100's of options... w or w/o ABS, 4wd, 2wd, disk size, drum size, pad lenght... geez why so may different options?

I've got a plain Jane 2wd 98 splash/xlt with a 4 cyl 2.5 L, no ABS.. short of taking all of the brake parts off my truck comparing each one, how can I figure out what I need?

Guy at the store is no help.. I just want what came stock on my truck, seems they can't find that out for some reason...

We drill through all of the specs on the truck, year make, 2wd, 2.5 L etc.. then there are a list of possibilities after that....

But yeah there are alot of different options. As far as drum size goes, you have to physically go and measure it. There is no way that anyone can tell you. I would assume that goes for the pads. But yours is a 98, so I would assume your front rotors are the smaller ones, 11.something. Not 12 inch.
