Brake problem

I have a 2003 Ranger, 3.0L that has begun to have a chatter or vibration in the left front when I apply the brake. It starts this vibration with heavy breaking above 40 mph and goes away as I get around 20 mph. All other wheels seem good. Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Gary

Brakes are not spongey and wheel bearings seem to be good, no noise or binding.

its a rotor. there is nothing else that will cause vibrations like that when braking. a wheel bearing you should hear grinding on corners
