Building my next Ranger -Opinions wanted

I am getting prepared to start the next Ranger build. I am thinking I have been driving body swap for a long time and I think I'll build another truck for me instead of just to sell. Of course the frame I am starting with is a 2000 4.0 5sp 4x4. I had sat my extra cab and bed on the frame but it was just going to take too much body work to make nice. So I am picking up a 04 edge parts truck sunday thats going to be the body/interior donor. It has already had some parts removed so I will be needing to buy the front end. I need a bumper, valance, grill and grill housing. It is coming with an edge hood but I think its the 2000-03 style. The parts truck is red but I am not going to build a red truck for me so I have to decide on a color. It has the newer style black bucket seats & console and edge rubber floor but is missing the door panels. Since I am rebuilding the 2000 (rolled green truck) it will have all the 2000 electronics and harnesses to mate up with the drivetrain. Does anybody know if the newer style(2004) cluster(white gauges) and air bags are compatable with the 2000 electronics? I guess I am just giving an FYI on my plans but I will document the build if there is interest. As I start to gather parts I will be asking opinions on some things like, what color would you choose?(doesn't have to be a ranger color but I am not into fad colors or reds and yellows) What year front end do you like the best? Stepside or flairside? What gears are better for a driver 3:73 or 4:10?( I have both)...What do you think?
John

is this truck for a daily drive? i'm intrested in what trucks you use for what, and although you are selling some i think to have an off roader and a street queen that both rangers, would be very cool.

Yes this will be my driver...most of the time it will be empty and just work transportation but it will also do occasional 4 wheeling. I will also use it to tow project trucks home with a car dolley. I have 2 sets of BFG AT 31x10.50's so that will be the tires...wheels are yet to be decided but they will be aluminum and not black. Probably a 1 or 2" bodylift.

Fixed it Scott...lol

Its kinda like algebra, some people are born with the natural ability and others have to learn how to do it. When I was a kid I started with bicycles, then lawnmowers and motorcycles, then cars and 4x4's...

The 04 gauges will not work with the 00 electronics. What kind of door panels does the 04 edge have? If it has power I might be intrested in buying them off of you...

4.10's with out a doubt since it will be towing. I'm partial to sonicblue, but azure blue would be an awesome color to go with. Or you could go with Deep violet(JS paint code) it's what I had on my 96 mustang gt. It's an awesome color in person despite what some people might say for it being purple lol.

i like the pre-runner front end look, i would say white if its your dd and gonna take it off road cause its a lot easier to maintain then black paint. 4.10 gears and those 31's you have sound great. course i am a fan of white on black but since your not using black rims maybe consider a dark green for color?

go with like a metallic charcoal looking color
step side, unless you like the extra bed room

what ever you come up with it will be awesome because you can do what you want.

I'd go 4:10's with the 31's, and Dark Shadow Gray.

The current style bumper/valance would look good w/ an 01-03 Edge/4x4 grill since you have the real power dome hood.

For color either FoMoCo's Estate Green or Aspen Green
