Very cool. I like the one where the dog is sitting where the passenger seat should be. What you did with the seats is great work.

I finished my tint yesterday. Took it for a ride. Much better. Got some pictures. Back half love it. Bright lights are nothing now.

 

Hey man nice job on the Tint. Wouldn't mind doing mine but have no idea how to do it. I guess there is youtube. Can't be that hard to do hopefully or just pay to get it done.

Truck looks great and glad it is helping you feel better. Sucks to feel like crap. Looks like a Boxer in the pic you posted. They are really great dogs. I unfortunately lost both of mine in 6 months badk in 2011 I think. Miss them very much!

Sorry to hear of the loss of your dog. Sometimes they are almost human in the way they communicate and show personality trates.

My dog is a Chug. As in chug a beer. It is Chihuahua and a Pug mix. I have the short hair version. I think she is 3 years old.

The tint job was something I wanted to do to the trailblazer I had. Never got around to it. That SUV sucked money from me before I said good bye to it. Funny thing. I thought that was a truck. No not at all. At best a school bus. I couldn't slide under it. The ranger I can slide all over under it without worry of getting close to anything. That is helpful.

I am going to post the tint video I watched. I didn't heat shrink it. I did the rest of the steps.


I had to remind myself to take time and have patience. You can do it. The Ranger windows are small compared to others. Like the Scion in the video. I did my cuts on the truck. Did not use a sharpie or cut on a different piece of glass. Thank you for the comment on my health. That means a lot.

 

Ok so I have alot of stuff to do on this project. Gonna try and start gathering the stuff I wanna use for the build. Probably start with the axles. going to go with a 44 up front from hopefully a 76 on up F150 or maybe something from a 250 depending on what is available! I wanna use E-Lockers or ARB's for the traction aids. If I go with E-Lockers then a 9inch is out of the question I believe because there isn't one available last time I checked.

So what axle do you all recommend. Probably going with Full Width Axles for this build. So give me your thoughts!

Currently no plans to go bigger than a 37inch tire!

 

Sounds great. If you are going to change the axles. Spec's match. Go for the F250 axle. E-Lockers? Don't know what it is. The F250 axles have a manuel locking front Diff. You jump out of the cab and twist the center of the rim to engage it. That and 4X4 makes the F250 non-stoppable when plowing very deep dense snow. I can imagine that would be what type of traction you are looking to gain. I don't know. You might be able to use another front set for the back.

Just my 2cents. For what its worth. I have experience plowing with a F250 in a dealership truck lot. The snow was knee deep. After someone mentioned the lockers it was like driving a tank through that lot. I hope I have helped.

Did you try the tint? I love my tint. Night time really nice. Don't get a noticeable reflection.

Yeah, I am going with manual locking hubs for sure. Don't need any other crap out there. Simple and reliable. I guess that whatever I go with depends on what I find. Getting over a crappy cold so maybe look this coming week and see what I come up with. I guess there isn't really alot of feedback on here. Maybe once things get going on the build. Who knows, still like doing the build thread.

 

I know this is a Ford Ranger forum. If at the scrap yard you see a chevy silverado. If it is a Z71. That would be on back side of bed. They come standard with a locking DIFF. It only locks when you need it to. The chevy trailblazer also comes standard with a locking DIFF. As well as there Tahoe and suburban. Those DIFF's only lock when needed. Automatic. They work real good. The GMC SUV line also has a locking DIFF standard.

As for me. Almost done with the exhuast system. The glass pack couldn't mount right. So I'm just going to add one more link of pipe and a down turn tip. Then I will hit everything with Black under coat. I know it does burn and smell funny. Keeping one section near the rear detachable to put a muffler on it for emition test. With added pipe it sounds better than the glass pack anyhow. Right now the outlet is straight back. It is just a little beyond the back of the cab. The drone or terrible sound that killed my head is gone. With the down pipe it should make it sound better. My theory is the change in direction of the sound should change how it sounds in the cab and outside of it. Funny. After starting it I stood behind the truck. The wind that was coming my way. I never would of guessed it to be so hard. That was after the intermediate connection between the CAT and the exhaust was put on. So it added only 6 inches Making a 12 inch pipe. Still a tornado back there.

Yes I am a slow worker. I still need 4 fog lights installed. Instrument panel lights changed. My shift selector moved back to be right on the number or letter. All needs to be done within the next few weeks. Don't want to work on it in the cold. Now I understand Fix Or Repair Daily. I know the age of the truck plays a role.
